CAMPAIGN SHOOT: Vacay Swim’s Bella Donna Collection

I recently photographed a swimwear campaign for Vacay Swimwear, refreshing their Bella Donna resort collection with Grace Cribb, Maya Berardi and Madi Kovac. We shot at a beautiful multi-level mansion in Bayview on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, with a white coastal home, pool, garden and views that gave the whole shoot a very European summer feeling.

The collection moved between swimwear and resortwear, with pieces like Positano, Rio, Rhodes, Aurelia and Sirena giving us a lot to work with across the day. The standout for me was the new plum colourway, especially in the purple bikini sets, which photographed beautifully against the white architecture, blue water and soft afternoon light.

Most of the shoot was created with natural light, and all of the images shown here are on film without editing. We used a mix of Kodak Gold, Portra 160 and mostly Portra 400, which suited the warmth, colour and relaxed poolside feeling of the day beautifully.

It was a half-day shoot, but it had that easy, sun-drenched rhythm you want from a swimwear campaign. The girls looked incredible, the Vacay team were lovely to work with, and somewhere between fruit, pastries, poolside frames and lying in the sun, the whole thing came together naturally.

For swimwear, resortwear, fashion and lifestyle brands looking to create campaign imagery on film, feel free to reach out.
