Swanning around Manly with Emma Macgowan

I met with Emma Macgowan for an early start at Shelly Beach near Manly. Chic Management organised this early morning rise for Emma after a recent stint of work in Europe. We waited at the cliffs for the sun to pierce through the clouds before following the walking track to the water for a swim. I made the rather presumptive choice to put Emma on a pink swan and float around Cabbage Tree Bay, which wasn’t my brightest moment, as the rocks proved a slipper climb for the both of us.

Fortunately, there were no injuries, but I need to get better shoes for in the water; I definitely think it was worth it, as the light was beautiful, and the shots turned out beautifully, especially with Emma willing to give my stupidity a fair go.

Horse and Berries provided the yellow bikini set, and local ethical swim brand Leni Swims provided the pink and blue sets (which are reversible!). Thanks to them, as you’ll see, the pink on pink worked a treat for these shots.

Shot on a Canon EOS 3, on 35mm film, these photos contain no retouching or editing, most rolls were Kodak Gold or Portra 400 with a roll of Washi X 100 thrown in for good measure!
