ONLINE with Phoebe Brennan
My latest magazine with Phoebe Brennan is 158 pages long, including the cover and thank-you notes. It’s in A4 format and available as a digital download.
Phoebe and I shot this one at Cougal Cascades in the Currumbin Valley, starting in the afternoon and working all the way into the dark. It was one of the most unique sessions from the Queensland trip, quiet, cold, moody, and shaped completely by the rainforest around us.
We had barely met before the shoot, but Phoebe trusted the process from the beginning. That trust mattered, because the conditions asked a lot of her. The light was disappearing quickly, the air was cold, and the whole shoot became more instinctive as the evening moved in.
Phoebe never complained. She stayed calm, listened, and let me guide the session into something that felt different from the rest of the series. There was no need to force it. We followed the feeling of the place and let the work unfold.
By the end, it didn’t feel like we had only just met. There was a natural ease there, and I think that comes through in the images.
This issue is shaped by the environment and the connection rather than a fixed plan. The result feels darker, slower, and more intimate than the coastal issues from the trip.
This issue reflects so much of what I want ONLINE to stand for: trust, presence, and creating work that feels real.
You can find Phoebe at @phoebebrennan_.
You can also get each issue at a discount via my Patreon, where your support helps me continue creating these shoots—funding travel, film, and time. I’m grateful to everyone who has followed this project, and I hope you enjoy the work as much as I enjoyed making it.
The price is listed in AUD, equivalent to approximately $22 USD.
