ONLINE with Elyse Stacey
This magazine with Elyse Stacey is 141 pages long, including the cover and thank-you notes. It’s in A4 format, available as a digital download, and shot entirely on film.
Elyse and I shot this issue on Rottnest Island, during my first time visiting. It was one of the main reasons I wanted to make the Perth trip happen, and getting to shoot there felt pretty special.
It nearly did not happen. A few days before, Perth had been hit with pretty wild weather, so we were lucky to get a clear afternoon, quiet beaches, soft light, and some of the most beautiful water I have seen.
Elyse was still quite new to shooting, which gave the issue a really natural, carefree feeling. We did not take it too seriously. We had fun, let her work things out as we went, and followed the feeling of the afternoon.
I really appreciated the trust she gave me. You could tell she was a little nervous going into it, but she took the chance, and I’m so glad she did. She also knew the island much better than I did, and helped take us to this beautiful spot that shaped the whole shoot.
This issue is built around sunlight, water, rocks, quiet beaches, and the feeling of being somewhere new. It is the second issue from my Perth trip, and one that feels really relaxed, open, and honest.
This issue reflects so much of what I want ONLINE to stand for: trust, presence, and creating work that feels real.
You can find Elyse at @elly.stacey.
You can also get each issue at a discount via my Patreon, where your support helps me continue creating these shoots, funding travel, film, and time. I’m grateful to everyone who has followed this project, and I hope you enjoy the work as much as I enjoyed making it.
The price is listed in AUD, equivalent to approximately $22 USD.
