ONLINE with Alisha Idana (Part 1)
This magazine with Alisha Idana is 147 pages long, including the cover and thank-you notes. It’s in A4 format and available as a digital download.
Alisha and I created this issue down in Jervis Bay, a few hours south of Sydney. We drove down together and spent the afternoon shooting along the coast, working into the evening before heading back to the Airbnb, cooking dinner and settling in for the night.
The whole issue has this incredible sense of movement through it. Wind, water, open coastline, quieter moments in between, and that gradual shift in light as the day disappeared.
Alisha had also just signed with ICON Management, and this shoot marked her first proper dive into working in the water. Looking through these photographs, you can see why she’s going to do incredibly well. She moves beautifully, has a really natural presence in front of the camera, and brings so much energy without ever making it feel forced.
More than anything, I love that this feels like a story. It doesn’t feel like a series of separate looks or locations. You can feel the day moving forward with us, from the drive down and the coastline through to the evening and eventually back inside.
There was far too much strong work from this trip to fit into one magazine, so Issue 40 became a two-part story. This is Part One, with Part Two following in two weeks.
This issue is built around movement, water, natural light, trust, and that feeling of disappearing somewhere for a day and making something together.
This issue reflects so much of what I want ONLINE to stand for: trust, presence, and creating work that feels real.
You can find Alisha at @alishaidana.
You can also get each issue at a discount via my Patreon, where Part Two will also be available early. Patreon members will be able to get both parts together as a bundle once Part Two is released.
Your support helps me keep funding the travel, production and time that goes into making ONLINE, and I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who continues to follow the project.
