ONLINE with Sasson Notley
This magazine with Sasson Notley is 175 pages long, including the cover and thank-you notes. It's in A4 format, available as a digital download, and shot entirely on film.
Sasson and I created this issue across Bouddi National Park, beginning with the walk down to Bullimah Beach before finishing the afternoon at Putty Beach for sunset. It was my first time working with Sasson, and it quickly became one of the most dynamic shoots I've created for ONLINE.
As the afternoon cooled down, we headed up to Copacabana and warmed up inside an Airbnb. The whole mood of the shoot shifted. The outdoor work felt open, windswept and full of movement, while the indoor images became softer, quieter and more intimate.
Sasson was incredible to photograph. She brought so much energy and versatility to the day that this could have easily become two separate issues, one outdoors and one indoors. Instead, I decided to keep them together as one longer story. At 175 pages, it felt like the right way to experience the full day.
I love when a shoot evolves naturally like this. We didn't set out to make two completely different bodies of work, but by following the weather, the light and the feeling of the day, that's exactly what happened.
This issue is built around changing light, contrast, movement, warmth, and allowing the day to unfold rather than trying to force it into a plan.
This issue reflects so much of what I want ONLINE to stand for: trust, presence, and creating work that feels real.
You can find Sasson at @sasson_notley.
You can also get each issue at a discount via my Patreon, where your support helps me continue creating these shoots, funding travel, film, and time. I’m grateful to everyone who has followed this project, and I hope you enjoy the work as much as I enjoyed making it.
The price is listed in AUD, equivalent to approximately $22 USD.
