ONLINE with Ellie Dano (Issue 41)
This magazine with Ellie Dano is 116 pages long, including the cover and thank-you notes. It’s in A4 format and available as a digital download.
Ellie was down from Queensland shooting in Sydney when we made this issue, and for our first shoot together we headed up to Collaroy Basin hoping to spend the afternoon working along the coast.
The weather absolutely did not cooperate.
We shot for as long as we could before the rain properly set in, then ended up taking refuge in this small green forest nearby. From there, we eventually gave in to the weather, headed back to an Airbnb, got dry and warm, and finished the rest of the shoot inside.
What I really like about this issue is how much the day changed around us. The location changed, the light changed, the plan changed, and Ellie just rolled with everything.
Nothing feels too controlled or overworked because we really were just adapting as we went. The issue moves from the coast into rain, greenery and softer indoor frames, and I think that unpredictability gives the whole thing a really natural sense of progression.
This shoot has also been sitting patiently in the archive for a while, waiting for the right rainy day to finally put it out into the world.
I’m really glad we did.
This issue is built around changing weather, movement, spontaneity and making something out of whatever the day gave us.
This issue reflects so much of what I want ONLINE to stand for: trust, presence, and creating work that feels real.
You can find Ellie at @elliedano_.
You can also get each issue at a discount via my Patreon, where your support helps me continue creating these shoots, funding travel, film and time. I’m grateful to everyone who has followed this project, and I hope you enjoy the work as much as I enjoyed making it.
The price is listed in AUD, equivalent to approximately $22 USD.
